In late 2024 we decided that Norway should have its own filament. This is the journey, told with real photos from the factory in Manger.

The decision is made: Norway will get its own filament factory. Premises in Manger outside Bergen, equipment on order, and a plan to do everything under one roof.
On a snowy February day the extrusion line rolls through the gate on Mangersnesvegen, in wooden crates straight from the manufacturer.
The first pallets of PLA raw material arrive, and the line is built up piece by piece.
A large delivery arrives at the warehouse: 3000 empty spools and 500 large shipping boxes, ready for when production scales up.
An electric pallet stacker is bought to make it faster to move pallets and boxes around the warehouse.
We also get access to a larger forklift for heavier lifts, for example when unloading machines and large pallets.
New cables and an upgraded power supply are run to the production space, extrusion requires stable power.
Pellets become filament. Test runs and fine-tuning of temperature, cooling and winding.
We ran a presale to test the product, and the response was beyond all expectations. The first spools were vacuum-packed, boxed and shipped to customers all over Norway.
Upgraded nozzle and laser-based diameter measurement, 1.750 mm, monitored continuously throughout production.
Work begins on our own MasterSpool, mountains, flag and Fjord3D pattern. Launching later.
The line runs at full capacity in Manger. Next steps: ABS and PETG, and eventually PLA based on Norwegian surplus wheat.
Photos from the build, the machine arrived in parts and was assembled on site in Manger, all the way to our very first finished spool.
Running the production required a serious electrical upgrade, 25,000 watts at 400 volts. We had to wait five months for approval before the installation could be connected.
